PROJECT #bluevelvet
This project was one of my very favorites to create! This sitting room was not frequently used but it needed to be pretty and eye-catching because it is the first room you see when entering the home. The client had 1 item she absolutely wanted: a blue, velvet sofa. We decided this Article sofa and it is a showstopper!
Since the blue sofa was going to be the main focal point, I wanted to use a rug that wouldn’t compete with it and complement it instead. This ombre rug did exactly that.
The chandelier was the only item in the room was previously purchased by the client and it worked perfectly for this design. I paired it with this Pottery Barn coffee table that provided more visual weight to all the gold in the room. The room is part of an open concept floor plan off the front door so there weren’t many walls, especially without windows, to work with but we did manage to add this skinny etagere to give more dimension and personality to the room.
To soften the room, these blush, velvet window treatments were the perfect addition.
Since there weren’t any walls to add art, I chose these pillows that have a big, bold pattern that serves as art!
Are you ready to give your home a makeover? I would love to help!
