There are a few things I always look for when sourcing TV stands: extra long and closed storage. I prefer stands where the TV is no more than 2/3rds the length of the stand. I actually try to keep my stands no less than 70 inches in length because I would rather have it be too long than too short. Also, be sure the stand is visually heavier than the TV or the whole arrangement will look top heavy. Closed storage actually helps the stand appear visually heavier and provides a simple and uncluttered look. When it gets too cluttered and styled under the TV it is distracting.
